WTIC-TV, Channel 3, Hartford, Connecticut; operating at an assigned power of 100,000 watts visual, and 60,000 watts audio by authority of the Federal Communications Commission. WTIC-TV is owned and operated by the Travelers Broadcasting Service Corporation, and maintains studios at 26 Grove Street, in downtown Hartford. Our transmitter is located on Talcott Mountain, in Avon, Connecticut.

I have just have the honor of privilege on signing on the air for the first time, Connecticut's newest television station WTIC-TV on channel 3. We are most happy to have you, our TV audience, with us for the opening ceremonies which were are calling the past, present and the future. We welcome also are friends in the studio audience, among who in addition to Governor Ribicoff, our religious leaders, educators, business and civic leaders, and the men and women who comprised with WTIC family of famous alumni. In this moment of dedication, we call on the Right Reverend Walter H. Gray, Bishop of Connecticut."
