WTJU operates on Channel 216, 91.1 megahertz, with an effective radiated power of 750 watts, at 950 feet above average terrain, as authorized by the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. WTJU's studios are located in the basement of Peabody Hall on the grounds of the University of Virginia, with transmitter located on Carters Mountain in Albemarle County.
